This easy to make Air Fried Dry Rub Chicken Wings recipe is low carb and family friendly. It takes less than 10 minutes to prep and are always a hit at the dinner table or a party!
Chicken wings are almost always associated with party food. Sure it’s a great finger food, they are easy to eat and mess-free, plus they are usually very flavorful. But I actually grew up eating chicken wings as a meal, along with potatoes and other vegetables. And I did not complain!
One of my favorite ways to season wings is using a dry rub, with a combination of flavorful seasonings and spices. This is an easy and quick way to add flavor to the wings, but also the dry rub allows for the wings to get extra crispy because there is less moisture on the chicken skin. Regardless of how you prefer to eat chicken wings, they are a delicious and fun.

For the rub, I combine a good amount of spices like smoked paprika, ancho chili powder, onion powder, cumin, oregano, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and golden sweetener. You have to have got to use the sweetener! For one thing, it will balance out the heat from the spices, but also the it will caramelize the rub to give you the perfect wing coating. Sweet and heat are a match made in heaven.
For this recipe, I use bagged, frozen (and thawed) wing and drummette pieces that have been rinsed and patted dry with a paper towel. I drizzle the naked wings with a bit of avocado oil before I smother them with my seasoning blend.
